[BULK FUEL HELP]

# Scorecard Overview

EKOS helps fuel purchasers make better buying choices by providing a corporate scorecard under the Bulk Fuel module along with market trends. With the scorecard application, the fuel purchaser can quickly see their average purchased price any given time frame and compare it with the average fair fuel price during that time. The scorecard will then calculate the average difference per gallon and match this with the total gallons purchased to give the customer the number of dollars lost or gained.

The goal should be to monitor the scorecard to determine where improvements in bulk fuel buying need to be made. If timing seems to be the issue, consider load shifting. If your diff calculations are consistently off, consider searching for a closer terminal to dial in freight charges. The market moves application can help the fuel purchaser see a visual representation of the market based on the past trends and can also assist with their buying moves.

To export your score card, go to Bulk Fuel -> Scorecard, filter the date range using the date picker and click the Download to CSV option to the right.

# Corporate Benchmark Dashboard

This dashboard provides a corporate view of the total bulk fuel purchases benchmarked against the Fair Fuel Index per site per product. The corporate scorecard will load with a month to date single product view.

You can select a custom date range (not to exceed 180 days) by using the calendar. Once you have chosen the product and the date range, click “Go” to refresh the calculations.

- Total Avg. Diff per Gallon is calculated using the Avg. Fair Fuel Price minus the Avg. Purchase Price.
- Total Dollar Diff is calculated using the Total Avg. Diff per Gallon multiplied by the Total Gallons.
- A negative Dollar Diff value means you have purchased fuel below the Fair Fuel Index - which translates to savings.
- A positive Dollar Diff value means you have purchased fuel above the Fair Fuel Index.

Download the results to Excel CSV for custom analysis.

- Sorting: The default sort for this grid is the Dollar Diff column. The negative Dollar Diff values will sort to the top. You can sort the grid by clicking on the field header names
- Legend: Positive summary results are not desired and will be noted in red in the summary fields.
- Site Name: Use the site name hyperlink or the site selector to navigate to the individual site benchmark chart and scorecard.
- Fuel Terminals: It is important to know where your bulk suppliers pull fuel product for your sites. Terminals can service suppliers in multiple states. Each terminal is mapped and marked by a balloon. Click a balloon to view the terminal details such as address and TCN number. The TCN (Terminal Control Number) is assigned to each terminal. This number identifies the registered terminals and can assist in identifying the supply source. Use the zoom slider and switch to Satellite to view a satellite image of the terminal.

# Market Moves

Look at a summary of market moves based on a specified date range. You can view the average differences by a line chart, scatter plot, or bar graph. You can also filter by type of fuel in the upper left-hand corner.

---

# EKOS Home Rack Report

The EKOS home rack report shows all your sites and the primary products you have in tanks at each site. EKOS displays the home rack for each site (usually up to 10 within a 250-mile radius of each site). Fuel prices are pulled from DTN.

---

# EKOS Rack Network Report

The EKOS rack network report shows all your sites and the primary products you have in tanks at each site. EKOS displays the home rack and all rack networks for each site usually up to 10 within a 250-mile radius of each site.

---

# Up Days Report

The EKOS up days report details each instance where the market was up yet the buyer failed to purchase fuel. The result was a missed savings opportunity. EKOS is looking for a market move of $0.02 or more. You can select a specific date range for this report and a PDF is displayed and can be printed straight from this page. This report shows a summary of purchases on up days and total dollar value of lost savings.

---

# Down Days Report

The EKOS down days report details each instance where fuel was purchased on a day when the market was going down instead of holding off a day and saving the company money. EKOS is looking for a downward market move of $0.02 or more. You can select a specific date range for this report and a PDF is displayed and can be printed straight from this page. This report shows a summary of purchases on down days and total dollar value of lost savings.

---

# Runout Report

The EKOS tank runout report shows the user all tanks that have had an inventory level (during the selected date range) that was below the run-out alarm level. EKOS will count one run-out per day for each day the inventory is below the run-out alarm level. Run outs are potentially very costly for organizations and should be avoided. The average run out can cost between $1,000 and $3,000 depending on the level of equipment damage, operational disruption, or added fees for emergency fuel deliveries. This report is very valuable for users to save money.

---

# Overfill Report

The EKOS tank overfill report shows the user all tanks that have had an inventory level (during the selected date range) that was greater than the high-level alarm or greater than the overfill alarm. Overfills (especially no-fits) are potentially very costly for organizations and should be avoided. On average an overfill can cost between $500 and $2,000; however, if the overfill results in a spill, then the costs can be significantly higher due to regulatory fees and compliance issues. The summary of overfill and high count are totaled in the summary section of the PDF.

---

# Late Drop Report

The EKOS late drop report details each load that was delivered later than the requested date on the order and dispatch request. EKOS tallies up the potential extra cost of fuel by the load being late. EKOS displays the late drops and lost savings in the summary section.

# Bulk Robot (Beta)

Setting up a bulk robot allows EKOS to create a benchmark for you. This will help you save per gallon. On average, customers save between $0.02 and $0.05 per gallon. We compare your purchases against the EKOS index. Track your actual inventory compared to the robot inventory and market price. Your orders are also compared against the robot orders.

The bulk robot grid gives you details on the following information:

- Name
- Start and End Date
- Site Name
- Customer Tank #
- Tank Description
- Storage Type
- Tank Capacity
- Low Alarm
- Reorder Point
- Minimum Load Quantity

---

# Create Bulk Buying Robot

EKOS gives you two inventory level choices in terms of directing your robot to purchase fuel. Most people use the reorder point. Once you make a selection, EKOS will know at what level to create a fuel order.

*STEP 1*

Enter robot details by first selecting a site, tank, and name for the robot.

*STEP 2*

Select how long you want the robot to work by choosing a start and end date and inventory.

*STEP 3*

Choose your robot’s ordering trigger by either using a reorder point, or low alarm and click create.

Setting up a robot will allow EKOS to create a benchmark for you. You can try to beat the robot by keeping in mind the following facts and rules about the robot and how it operates:

- It always has supply. Weather, storms, and other disruptions don’t keep it from getting fuel
- It uses your sales (transactions) done at the tank to decrement its inventory
- If sales are not available for any day or period, then it will use the average sales for that day of the week (or use inventory delta)
- It is never late and always gets fuel next day
- It never runs you out of fuel
- It never overfills your tank
