# Overview

Part Kits let you group together parts that are commonly used on a vehicle or service task and save them as a reusable set.

You select the parts and quantities once, give the kit a name, and save it. After that, the same group of parts can be reused whenever needed.

For example, if a specific service item (oil change) always requires:

- 1 oil filter
- 6 quarts of oil
- 1 drain plug gasket

You can create a Part Kit instead of adding those items one by one each time.

Part Kits can be assigned to:

- A vehicle (for quick reference of what parts a vehicle takes)
- A service item (to standardize what parts are used on specific service tasks)

## What Are Part Kits?

A **Part Kit** is a reusable group of parts with predefined quantities.

Once created, a Part Kit can be:

- Assigned to a vehicle so mechanics can quickly reference or add the correct parts
- Assigned to a service item so parts automatically populate on a work order

Think of a Part Kit as a parts template that eliminates guesswork.

Instead of asking:

- “What filter does this truck take?”
- “How many quarts does this engine require?”
- “What else is included in an A Service”

The answer is already built into the kit.

**Example**

A **“Diesel PM – A Service”** kit might include:

- (1) Oil filter
- (1) Fuel filter
- (1) Water separator
- (4) Quarts of engine oil

Every time that PM service is performed, these parts will be automatically added to the work order.

## Where to Find Part Kits

To create or manage Part Kits:

1. Go to **Fleet**
2. Click the **Parts** icon
3. Select **Part Kits**

From here you can:

- Create new kits
- Edit existing kits
- Assign kits to vehicles
- Assign kits to service items

# Examples

**Example 1: Light Duty Truck – Front Brake Service**

A **“Light Duty Truck – Front Brake Service”** kit might include:

- (1) Front brake pad set
- (2) Brake rotors
- (1) Brake hardware kit
- (1) Brake cleaner
- (1) Tube of brake lubricant

This ensures every front brake job includes the same components and everyone is on the same page when performing and recording this task.

**Example 2: Diesel Truck – PM Service (A Service)**

A **“Diesel PM – A Service”** kit might include:

- (1) Engine oil filter
- (1) Fuel filter
- (1) Primary fuel/water separator
- (1) Cabin air filter
- (2) Gallons of engine oil

Each time this PM is performed, the same required parts are automatically included.

**Example 3: School Bus – Annual Inspection**

A **“School Bus Annual Inspection”** kit might include:

- (1) Wiper blade set
- (1) Air dryer cartridge
- (1) Set of marker light bulbs
- (1) Reflector kit

This standardizes inspection-related replacements across all buses.

**Example 4: Light Duty Gas Vehicle – Oil Change**

A **“Gas Vehicle Oil Change”** kit might include:

- (1) Oil filter
- (4) Quarts of engine oil
- (1) Drain plug gasket

Now every oil change is consistent — no forgotten gasket or under-billed oil.

A **“Trailer PM Service”** kit might include:
