# Create Vehicle

To create a vehicle you will enter in the required information and any optional information you want to identify your vehicles. Notice all of the fields in step 1 are REQUIRED. The **Asset #** and **Description** fields are two key ways to identify and search for a vehicle. Asset # should be a unique value for each vehicle. Please enter the following information for step 1:

- **Asset #** *(Required)*: Unique identifier for this asset (e.g., fleet number or internal tag).
- **Vehicle Description** *(Required)*: Short description of the asset.
- **Asset Category **(Required)**:** Whether it is a vehicle, or other asset
- **Account **(Required)**:** Select the account from the dropdown menu
- **Ownership** *(Required)*: Select if the asset is Company-owned, Leased, etc.
- **Department** *(Required)*: Select the department this asset belongs to.
- **Status**: Choose the current status (e.g., Active, Needs Repair, Out of Commission, etc).
- **Product Class: **Choose from the dropdown

### Step 2

Enter in the following optional details:

- VIN
- License
- Year
- Vehicle Make
- Vehicle Model
- Vehicle Type
- Class
- Serial Number
- Color
- Notes

> ℹ️ Tip - When you select a year and make, EKOS will display a list of all NHTSA models associated with that year and make.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ If your make or model is not appearing in the dropdown, you can add them by clicking the Plus (+) button to bring up the Quick Create panel.

Steps 3-8 are also option items in the following categories:

- Vehicle Specifications
- Engine and Transmission Details
- Wheels and Tires Details
- Vehicle Service Information
- Vehicle Lifecycle Cost Information
- Vehicle Config

Then Create & Add another vehicle, or simple create one vehicle to finish
