# Totalizer Readings

# Create Totalizer Readings

To create a totalizer reading in EKOS, you will click Log Totalizer Reading in the upper right hand corner of the page. This will take you through a step by step process to get it logged.

### STEP 1

Choose a Fuel Site and Date by selecting your site from the drop down menu and entering the date or time of reading.

> ⚠️ **IMPORTANT:** If you enter a totalizer reading before 12:00PM, the calculated fuel consumption will apply to the previous calendar day's inventory reconciliation.
> ⚠️ 
> ⚠️ **IMPORTANT:** EKOS will automatically use totalizer readings to override ‘Gallons Pumped’ for Inventory Reconciliation for any days that have totalizers entered. The values calculated from totalizer readings will serve as ‘physical counts’ and will supersede and transactions from your card reader on that day.

> ℹ️ Use EKOS on your mobile phone and click on the Quick Action menu for Totalizer Reading. That way you can enter the totalizer reading into EKOS while you are standing right in front of the pump. After you choose a site EKOS will display all of the active hoses at the site so you can enter totalizer readings.

### STEP 2

Enter Totalizers by using the totalizer entry tool. Enter a totalizer reading for one or more hoses. EKOS will calculate the difference from your last totalizer reading for this hose and use that value when calculating inventory reconciliation for the tank that’s connected to that hose.
