# **Create Technician**

Make sure you set up a user first so you can save time linking technician to the user. EKOS has an excellent user experience for Technicians when they use a table (i.e. iPad). Here are some reasons why:

1. Efficiency – When technicians use the tablet to record their work as they are doing it, you can save hours by not having to re-key work technicians do the work for you!
2. Personalized – When a technician logs into EKOS the tablet will only have their presented and they have their own dashboard instead of filtering through ‘clutter’, the technician can focus on what is assigned to him/her
3. Real Time – When a technician makes updates on the tablet, the entries are immediately available to the administrators.

### *Step 1*

Enter details about technician and link to a user. The first step to creating a technician is linking the technician to an EKOS user (someone that can login). A technician can do extra tasks beyond a normal user and role. Click the help icon on the page to learn more about linking a technician. Select a user, enter their name and title, technician ID, vendor, and supervisor (optional).

### *Step 2*

Enter identification and contact info. Fill in contact items, if you enter key contact information (such as employee ID) EKOS can then create better reporting and searching capabilities.

Add your technician’s current labor rate and beginning and end date. Click Create.** **
