# Create Part

Using the create button in the top right corner of the parts grid, you can manually add your inventory into EKOS. Fill out the information on the form and click save when done. The part will populate into the parts grid with the others where you can edit or remove later on.

### *STEP 1*

Enter Part Details. EKOS allows you to put your parts into various categories to help you find and report on parts easier. The drop down box to the left is tied to a list of your categories which can be managed under the Tools icon at the top of the page.

### *STEP 2*

Enter Manufacturer Details by selecting a Manufacturer, entering in the Part # and UPC barcode.

### *STEP 3*

Choose from a list of measurement units to better track your inventory. EKOS will allow you to adjust and automatically track quantities in your warehouses for a simple warehouse management solution. Enter the cost of the part by entering in the unit cost and select the unit. You can choose from a list of defaults or add your own measurement units.

### *STEP 4*

Activate this part at your warehouses. EKOS now allows you to assign which of your warehouses has a specific part by simply toggling a switch to activate the part and then entering in valuable inventory information about the part at each warehouse such as Aisle, Bin, Row, Quantity, and Reorder Point. Activate this part at your warehouses. In this step EKOS allows you to choose which of your warehouses has this part on hand. Simply toggle the switch and then you can enter in valuable inventory information about the part at each warehouse such as the Aisle, Bin, and Row.

If you select track inventory, check the box for any part then EKOS will keep track of how many units you have on hand and provides reports showing the dollar value of the part at each warehouse. If you do not select track inventory, then EKOS will assume this is a non-stuck item at the selected warehouse and will not track the quantity (or value) on hand.

If you enter an Initial Quantity, EKOS will add this quantity as the first record and the reason code will be initial quantity. All future activity will use this as the starting point and keep track of the on-hand quantity accordingly.

Click Save and your part will be entered into EKOS.
