# Technician Manager

Manage your Service Technicians from this screen. View all active technicians and easily edit, view, and add any service technicians.

## Create Technician

The first step to creating a technician is linking the technician to an EKOS user (someone that can login). A technician can do extra tasks beyond a normal user and role. Click the help icon to learn more about linking a technician. Enter Technician details and link to a user. Then enter identification and contact info. EKOS allows you to create a labor rate if needed.

## Labor Rates Grid

EKOS allows you to assign a labor rate to a technician for the purposes of tracking work order labor costs. Upon creating or updating a technician, a labor rate can be assigned and EKOS will track the history of the rate assigned to a technician. The Technician Labor Rates Grid displays all rates for all technicians in the same grid.

EKOS allows you to add all your labor rate types into the software such as overtime, after house, emergency, double-time, weekend, holiday, etc. The default rate type will be automatically entered as regular, each labor rate type can be assigned a multiplier that will be multiplied by the regular rate. From the Labor Rates Grid you can create and update labor rate.

## Create Labor Rate

Creating and assigning labor rates will allow you to track work order labor costs. EKOS will track the history of the rate assigned to a technician. Use the begin and end dates to indicate the timeframe that a labor rate should be used for. Select a technician, enter the rate and begin and end dates and then submit your request.
