# Create Work Order Entry

EKOS now has the ability to do a work order entry with advanced line items. Users can add technician labor to a service task, attach a part to a service task, or have the service task outsourced to an outside vendor all from the same screen. EKOS now links all these items together on one page for a more efficient process, choose which item applies to your task and add them in on the same screen.

Key advantages:

- Line-item entry: EKOS provides users the ability to link service tasks with technician labor, parts, and the ability to outsource to a vendor all from the same screen
- Cost summary details: EKOS presents users with clear and simple to read cost summaries for your work, including parts total, labor total, vendor total, and internal total

Other features: Download and view summary subtotals for your line items. EKOS separates all service items into different categories for your tracking convenience, and you can add custom notes to any service item if needed. Users can also render and print a PDF report of each service task so you can print a physical copy for your records.

To create a work order entry, follow these steps:

Choose a Vehicle or Asset

Enter Description and Dates:

Choose a Vendor if Applicable

Quick Dispatch to a Technician

### *STEP 5*

Attach issues: Any driver reported issues and failed inspections will show up with the specific vehicle you have selected.

### *STEP 6*

Enter Line Item Details for the Work Order:

Enter the total or choose to enter line-item details. The status of the entry will remain open in case you want to add items later when you click save and view. You can also save and add line items. Enter line-item details. In this step you can add preventative maintenance, service tasks with line-item entry, and parts and labor only. EKOS allows you to do multiple things in one instance. You can attach or link a PM to a work order entry to help you with alerts and reminders on what is due soon. Track when PMs are due on all your vehicles by creating schedules in the PM program. If you assign a vehicle in EKOS to a PM program it automatically picks up any schedules you created and updates the rest of EKOS. Get access to easy data entry and do two steps in one. EKOS helps you keep track of all preventative maintenance with reminders sent to your email to let you know when a vehicle is due soon for maintenance.

- Preventative Maintenance: Use this section to attach a PM schedule to this work order
- Service Line-Item Entry Tool: Enter service tasks for this work order and attach technician details or parts to each service task. Enter in the service name, service code, labor minimum, labor total, part quantity, part total, and subtotal. You can also add in any notes.
- Add technician labor and attach a part to a service task. If a service task was completed by an outside vendor, you can link that to EKOS.
- Parts and Labor Only Line-Item Entry Tool: Use this tool if you want to add a part to your work order that is not associated with a service task.

After adding in any line item details, EKOS provides a line item details summary section so you can confirm the information that you have added. Cost summary details will also be provided, EKOS presents users with clear and simple to read cost summaries for your work including labor total, part total, sub-total, discount, tax, and total cost.

## Customize Work Orders

Configure work order forms to fit your needs, hide or show fields that aren’t relevant, keeping forms clean and efficient for technicians. Simply click the configure button in the top-right corner to toggle fields on or off. This update gives your team the flexibility you’ve been asking for - making work orders faster and easier to manage.
