Fleet managers need a quick way to see how old the fleet is, how many assets were bought or sold recently, and which assets may be past their expected life.
The **Lifecycle Analysis** page helps you do that in one place. Use this page to review fleet age, recent asset turnover, and active assets that may need replacement review.

# Where to find it
Go to the **Fleet Dashboard** sidebar and select **Lifecycle Analysis**.
# What’s on the page
The page has two main parts:
- **Lifecycle Stats** card with three metrics
- **Assets Due for Replacement** data table
There are no date range filters, department filters, or grouping controls on this page.
# Lifecycle Stats
The **Lifecycle Stats** card shows three metrics.

> ℹ️ **Average Age** and **Lifetime Usage** are not the same thing. Average Age uses **model year**. Lifetime Usage uses the asset’s **In Service Date**.
## Average Age
**Average Age (years)** shows the average age of active assets that have a model year entered.
It is calculated as:
> **Current year - vehicle model year**
Assets without a model year are not included in this average.
This metric is **not** based on **In Service Date**.
## Assets Purchased
**Assets Purchased** counts active assets whose **Purchase Date** falls in the last **12 months**.
The Purchase Date comes from the asset’s **Lifecycle** information.
## Assets Sold
**Assets Sold** counts active assets whose **Sold Date** falls in the last **12 months**.
The Sold Date comes from the asset’s **Lifecycle** information.
# Assets Due for Replacement
This table lists **active, fleet-managed assets** that appear overdue for replacement based on lifecycle expectations.
## How an asset gets on this list
An asset can appear in this table if either condition is true:
1. **Lifetime Usage (years)** is greater than **Expected Usage (years)**
2. **Lifetime Meter** is greater than **Expected Meter**
In simple terms, an asset shows up when it has gone past the years you expected, or past the meter life you expected.

> ℹ️ If **Expected Useful Life (Years)** and **Expected Life Meter** are blank, the asset will not be flagged by those checks.

> ℹ️ Only **active** assets are included. Only **fleet-managed** assets are included. Inactive assets are not shown.
## How to read the table
The table shows these columns:
| Column | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Asset #** | The asset number. This table is sorted by Asset # in descending order by default. |
| **Vehicle** | The asset or vehicle name shown in the record. |
| **Status** | The current asset status. |
| **Category** | The asset category. |
| **Type** | The asset type. |
| **Department** | The department tied to the asset. |
| **Lifetime Usage** | The actual years in service, calculated from the asset’s **In Service Date** to today. |
| **Expected Usage** | The **Expected Useful Life (Years)** entered on the asset’s Lifecycle record. |
| **Lifetime Meter** | The current lifetime meter reading, based on the asset’s primary meter such as odometer or engine hours. |
| **Expected Meter** | The **Expected Life Meter** entered on the asset’s Lifecycle record. |

The table includes these filters:
- **Status**
- **Category**
Available row actions:
- **View asset**
- **Edit asset** if the user has permission
# How to keep this data accurate
The values on this dashboard come from fields on the asset record under **Lifecycle** or **Vehicle Lifecycle** information.
Relevant fields for this page are:
- **Purchase Date**
- **Sold Date**
- **In Service Date**
- **Expected Useful Life (Years)**
- **Expected Life Meter**
To update these values, open the asset in **Asset Manager**, go to the **Lifecycle information**, and update the fields there.

> ℹ️ If something on this page looks off, first check the asset’s lifecycle fields. Small field differences, such as a missing model year or blank expected life values, can change what appears on the dashboard.
# How to use this page
Use this page as a quick review tool.
- Review **Average Age** to understand overall fleet aging.
- Check **Assets Purchased** and **Assets Sold** to see recent turnover in the last 12 months.
- Open **Assets Due for Replacement** and review units that are past expected years or meter life.
- Click into the asset to verify lifecycle fields before making replacement decisions.

# What this page does not show
This page does not do the following:
- Show cost of ownership
- Show fuel or maintenance spend
- Show PM or service reminders
- Let you change the purchased or sold date window on the page
- Automatically dispose, replace, or schedule replacement for assets
- Replace **Asset Analysis** or **Fleet Snapshot**
# FAQ
Why is an asset missing from Assets Due for Replacement?
An asset must be **active** and **fleet-managed** to appear in this table.
It also needs to be overdue based on lifecycle expectations. That means either **Lifetime Usage** is greater than **Expected Usage**, or **Lifetime Meter** is greater than **Expected Meter**.
If **Expected Useful Life (Years)** and **Expected Life Meter** are blank, the asset will not be flagged by those checks.
How is Average Age calculated?
**Average Age** is based on model year, not in-service date.
For each active asset with a model year entered, the calculation is **current year minus vehicle model year**. The result is averaged and rounded to **1 decimal place**.
Assets without a model year are not included.
Why can’t I change the date range for Assets Purchased or Assets Sold?
This page does not include a date picker.
**Assets Purchased** and **Assets Sold** always use the last **12 months** based on the asset’s **Purchase Date** or **Sold Date**.
Where do I update Purchase Date, Sold Date, Expected Usage, or Expected Meter?
Open the asset in **Asset Manager**, go to the **Lifecycle information**, and update the fields there.
The relevant fields are **Purchase Date**, **Sold Date**, **Expected Useful Life (Years)**, and **Expected Life Meter**.
Does this page automatically replace or dispose of assets?
No. This page helps you identify assets that may need review, but it does not automatically replace, dispose of, or schedule replacement for assets.
What’s the difference between Average Age and Lifetime Usage?
**Average Age** uses the asset’s **model year** and shows the average age of active assets with a model year entered.
**Lifetime Usage** is the asset’s actual years in service, calculated from its **In Service Date** to today.
These values answer different questions, so they may not match.
