# Create/Add Com Device

### *STEP 1*

Enter the Com Device Type and general info. There are three types of com devices to choose from in EKOS: Cellular modem which is a private cellular device, ET (Edge Technology) which is a network device that uses customer internet and a secure tunnel to EKOS, and LAN.

Enter in the following general information:

- Site
- Status
- Name
- Manufacturer
- Model Number
- Ownership
- Serial Number

### *STEP 2*

Setup the Carrier Plan (EKOS Admin Function) and Billing Details. For the Carrier plan details fill out the following information:

#### Com Device

- IP Address
- Part
- MAC Address
- Device ID
- Go Energies Plan

#### Credentials (if applicable)

- Username
- Password

The EKOS Cellular modem is pre-configured by the EKOS staff to automatically communicate with your equipment as soon as it gets plugged in. This solution eliminates all communication over your network and routes communication through the EKOS Private Network, offering a true “plug and play” setup for your equipment. It is critical to enter the Details for the modem in this section so the EKOS Service Desk and your local service provider can troubleshoot and service the modem when necessary.

A customer can also utilize their own cellular modem for connectivity. If you elect to go this route, the cellular modem MUST be configured with a public-facing IP address in order for EKOS to communicate with the equipment it is connected to.

### *STEP 3*

Set up the Carrier Plan (EKOS Admin Function)

- Carrier: choose a carrier from the dropdown menu
- Carrier Plan
- Wireless Number
- Network Speed
- Carrier Account #
- Carrier Group #
- Carrier SIM

#### Billing Details

- Carrier Cost Center
- Data Allowance
- Monthly Access
- Overage Rate
- Monthly Charge
- Total Expected Monthly Charge

Click create Com Device.
