# Add/Create Card Reader

To create a card reader, select create card reader under the Equipment menu.

### *STEP 1*

Select the Card Reader Type and Enter general information about the card reader. Fill out the following information:

- Card Reader Type: There are two types of controllers to choose from in EKOS
  - Pedestal Unit: a fixed unit typically located on a fuel island at permanent fuel site
  - Fuel Truck Unit: a controller that is mounted to a mobile fuel truck or mobile fuel site
- Site - select a site from the dropdown
- Status - select a status from the dropdown
- Card Reader Description
- Manufacturer - select from the dropdown
- Model Number - select from the dropdown
- Ownership - select ownership type from the dropdown
- Serial Number

### *STEP 2*

Link to a Com Device or LAN Connection. Fill out the following information:

#### Com Device

- Com Device: This device might be connected to a communication device. Here is where you create that link.
- IP Address
- Port Number: This port will be defaulted to 443 (HTTPS) if nothing is entered. This port is important because it is what allows EKOS to block and unblock your hoses. If the Gasboy controller is on your LAN, you will enter the port you are translating to 443 for the controller.

#### Credentials (if applicable)

- Username & Password: These are the credentials to your Gasboy Site Omat. These are required to allow EKOS to block and unblock your hoses.

### *STEP 3*

Enter optional details about the Card Reader. Enter in details about communication and processing, as well as install and pump connection. Enter in the following information:

#### Communication & Processing Details

- Communication: select a communication method from the dropdown menu
- Processing Method
- Software version
- LAN IP Address: These networking fields should reflect the settings in the head of the fuel controller. These are for record keeping purposes only and do not affect communication to the controller.
- MAC Address

#### Install & Pump Connection

- Installer
- Install Date
- Pump Communication Method: Select a fuel pump compatibility

Click Create Card Reader.
